SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) today announced that it received two awards in the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2020.
As one of the world’s largest design competitions, the Red Dot Award is held annually to recognize outstanding design and creativity throughout the globe. The winners are chosen by competent expert juries in three disciplines, the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept.
SK Telecom was honored with two prestigious awards in the ‘Brands’ section of the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design.
The company was recognized for its outstanding work in ZEM, a brand created for digital natives. Launched in September 2019, ZEM is designed to create a fun and interesting experience for children by incorporating the characteristics of slime, one of the most popular toys for kids. Through ‘slime font’ and UI developed under this concept, children can freely express themselves. At the same time, ZEM promotes a healthy mobile culture by preventing excessive use of smartphones and blocking harmful contents.
SK Telecom’s ‘Onboarding Kit’ for new hires also received an award in the same ‘Brands’ section. This welcome kit, which contains must-have office items that come in a box, is designed with colors, shapes, and lines to express harmonious growth between the company’s two main growth engines, Mobile Network Operations (MNO) Business and New ICT (Media, Security, Commerce) Business.
“We are honored to receive these awards as they highlight our efforts to create brand designs that best deliver our corporate philosophy and values,” said Cha Jong-whi, Vice President and Head of Integrated Brand/UX Group. “Going forward, we will continue to develop innovative brand designs to better communicate with our customers.”
